Price slashed by 40%, now £85+vat, while stocks last!
This week seems to be spent concentrating on getting the 142 and associated crew/gear ready for the Essex Charity Stages:
- The car is ready, and looking good, however I had to neatly spread a little GunGum on the bottom of #1 exhaust tube, as it has warped slightly and keeps blowing the gasket; there's no point in changing the manifold at this late stage, since the car will probably be ditching the SU's and getting our full motorsport fuel injection set up later in the year...
- Selection of tyres includes Yokohama A048R's and Maxsport RB3's & RB4's: total of 15 tyres
- The rally is a multi venue stage, so I've no idea how to go about tyre choice at this point, I'm sure it'll become obvious
- Rather pleasant to be seeded "53", it's been a long time since we were down there in the running order, but hopefully we should beat our seeding (classed as a win in my under-achieving mind!)
As for Emma's road rally PV544, below is a picture of the differential block bushes.
There are four of these, acting as torque dampers and permitting a little roll, but as you can see, after 2 seasons of mixed rallying, the rearmost bush has completely destroyed itself. This is now an annual service change item!
