| L2CT Update - Day 16 |
A quick update on the weekends exploits.
Boys lost the front shocks all together on Sat morning on a really rough
section, the shocks punched through the lower wishbone. They drove for 2
hours until they found a little road side garage with a welder, Rob
and the garage had them back on the road in 2hrs, but they missed the TC
in Addis which gained them the penalties, dropping them from 7th to
15th.
This morning they tackle the "Road to Mars". The rally organizers say
this is the worse road in the world and they should know, everybody was
somewhat nervous, but I got a text at 07:10 from Rob saying "Yes! Yes!
Cool!" so I presume the Volvo and boys are having fun and hoping to
start climbing back up into the Top 10.
Rob has had no Internet connection for a number of days, but they will
get to Nairobi tomorrow and Wednesday is a rest day - or a car fixing
day, and he will be able to upload his ramblings and photos.
