Rally Cars progress - and the 444 also
18/9/2017
- Peter's 240 LEJoG (Lands End to John'o'Groats) car is nearing readiness
- Saab Turbo seats installed, which both we and Peter quite like
- Harnesses in, using the OE mounting points rather nicely
- Amy has sized it up for this endurance event, and we're just having the footrest laser cut before I weld it together and install it
- Amy's navdesk was built by Peter in Australia and sent out, and replaces the glovebox lid beautifully.
- Mike & Lorna's old PV544 now has a 4.56 axle installed
- I need to get the brakes built up again
- then lengthen the propshaft (it had been shortened for an overdrive, ugh!)
- Our new 444...
- I removed and cleaned up its axle, particularly descaling the journal where the wraparound bush sits
- Reinstalled, brakes rigged, new brake lines, greased up the (umbrella) handbrake line
- I suspect the next task is to install the new loom...
